We make these lamps from birch logs sustainably harvested from our own woodlot in Maine. Their simple and pleasing design will be a charming conversation piece in any rustic setting, be it your home, cabin, lodge or cottage. They also make an eco-friendly statement in an urban or contemporary settings.
These are high quality lamps:
- solid log construction means it is sturdy and stable
- the wiring runs through the log, not outside it
- cord exits the bottom in any direction so you can rotate the lamp to suit your taste
- socket is UL Approved
- two-prong polarized plug on a 7' dark brown cord
- felt feet on bottom protect your table
We take our time selecting the logs we use to make these lamps. We look for straight, undamaged pieces that are of fairly uniform diameter and bark features. They have all the character you expect of natural tree: slight imperfections, knots etc. If you feel you need to clean the bark, you can download our instruction sheet Care and Cleaning of Birchbark.
The overall height of this lamp is approximately 20" to the top of the harp. The log base is 11" tall and 4" to 6" in diameter. If you need a specific diameter, please let me know before ordering. The rotary switch on the socket controls a 3-way bulb which is not included. It comes with a simple brass finial but you might consider adding one of our pinecone or beach stone finials.
We also offer this lamp with a shade in a separate listing.

Base
Looks great but kinda wobbly without a base, it will get knocked over on a nightstand easily. Otherwise could be a 5. I will probably make my own small square wood base.
