I make this towel ring from a wooden saddle stirrup. It's sure to add a kick of personality to your stable, barn, tack room, bathroom or kitchen. Use it to hold a hand towel or as a doorknocker. Either way it's the perfect, practical gift for a horse lover or cabin owner. Wherever you hang it, it will become a conversation piece.
The stirrup swings freely from a heavy leather strap, available in either Dark Brown or Light Brown, and is secured to the wall (or door) with a brass screw & washer. In keeping with the Western theme, I make the washer from the base of a spent shotgun shell. After cleaning the stirrups, I sand them smooth and apply several coats of polyurethane so they resist water and won't harm your towels. Because these are repurposed stirrups, they may vary slightly in size but are generally 6" wide and 9" tall including the leather strap. Each stirrup comes with all the hardware you need to install it on wood, plaster, sheet rock and tile surfaces.
Because the stirrups are repurposed I can't guarantee yours will look exactly like those shown here but it will be very close. If you need a perfectly matched pair, drop me an email by clicking here and I'll send you a photo.
