We make these lamps from birch logs sustainably harvested from our own woodlot in Maine. Their simple and pleasing design will be a charming conversation piece in any rustic setting, be it your home, cabin, lodge or cottage. They also make an eco-friendly statement in an urban or contemporary settings.
These are high quality lamps:
- solid log construction means it is sturdy and stable
- the wiring runs through the log, not outside it
- cord exits the bottom in any direction so you can rotate the lamp to suit your taste
- socket is UL Approved 110v/220v
- two-prong polarized plug on a 7' dark brown cord
- felt feet on bottom protect your table
We take our time selecting the logs we use to make these lamps. We look for straight, undamaged pieces that are of fairly uniform diameter and bark features. They have all the character you expect of natural tree: slight imperfections, knots etc. If you want to clean the bark, you can download our instruction sheet Care and Cleaning of Birchbark.
The overall height of this lamp is approximately 20" (whether the shade is on or not). The rotary switch on the socket controls the 3-way bulb which is not included. The shade has a 'spider' frame which mounts on a harp and secures with a brass finial. You might consider adding one of our pinecone or sea stone finials. If you already have a shade you'd like to use, you have the option of ordering the lamp without the shade.
The shade is made of off-white, hard-backed linen fabric. It fits on the harp and is secured with a brass finial (included). The shade is 10" tall, 6" diameter at the top, and 16" diameter at the bottom. We ship the base and the shade in two separate cartons.
We also offer this lamp without the shade in a separate listing.
