We make these lamps from birch logs sustainably harvest from our own woodlot in Maine. Their simple and pleasing design will be a charming conversation piece in any rustic setting, be it your home, cabin, lodge or cottage. They also make an eco-friendly statement in an urban or contemporary setting. Available with and without the shade.
These are high quality lamps:
- solid log construction makes it sturdy and stable
- the wiring runs through the log, not outside it
- cord exits the bottom in any direction so you can rotate the lamp to suit your taste
- 110/220 voltage, UL Approved
- two-prong polarized plug on a 7' dark brown cord
- felt feet on bottom protect your table
We take our time in selecting the logs we use to make these lamps. We look for straight, undamaged pieces that are of fairly uniform diameter and bark features. They have all the character you expect of natural tree: slight imperfections, knots etc. If you want to clean the bark, you can download Care and Cleaning of Birchbark.
The overall height of this bedside lamp is 13" to the top of the shade. The push switch on the socket controls a 60w bulb (not included). The lamp does not use a harp so it does not require a finial. Instead the shade has a clip that grasps the bulb itself. This shade will work with any round bulb but will not attach to compact fluorescent 'pig-tail' style bulbs. If you already have a shade you'd like to use, you have the option of ordering the lamp without the shade.
The off-white, hard-backed linen shade is 4" diameter at the top, 9" diameter at the bottom and 7" tall.
