WOODPECKER DOOR KNOCKER

With its flamboyant, red crest atop a large black and white body, the Pileated Woodpecker stands out from all other birds. And like the bird after which it is modeled, this door knocker will command attention as it announces the arrival of guests at your door.

I make these woodpeckers from solid Maple for its strength and the crisp sound it makes. Unlike most door knockers, this one is mounted on a real split log and hand-painted to accurately reflect the natural bird's beauty. Simply pull the leather cord and this guy makes a lovely knocking sound.

A recessed hook on the back allows you to mount him flush to the wall next to your door. I left the leather cord a bit long. You can easily shorten it if you like.
